Double Digits!

Happy Birthday Jenna!
I can't believe by daughter is 10! She is growing
so fast! The things I love about Jenna are; she's
smart, beautiful, wants to do the right thing, adores
her dad, loves to laugh and have fun, gives 110%
most of the time, draws amazing pictures, has a
contagious smile, a good friend, a fantastic
sister, loves food as much as her mom, and gives
great hugs. ( Really I could go on and on because
I'm her mom, but I'll stop there). We are so glad
Jenna is a part of our family! I don't know what
I would do with out her.

Caged Animal?

I was outside cleaning the bottom of Brownie's Cage.
When I came back inside, this is what I found.
I had to take a picture!

Life Happens!

Rick got a contracted government job in California for a year.
Yeah! The only draw back is we are apart during the week.
He then joins us,his family, on the weekends. We really try
to enjoy every minute together!

My good friend always tells me Life is about the stories
you can tell. So I have a story that we will be telling for a
long time. So it began with Rick leaving California to come home
to his waiting family. He was traveling along and the gage
to tell you if your car is overheating went up. He had to
pull over. He waited for it to cool down. Then went on his
merry way. He then had to stop again. He called me to tell
me the situation. By then a cop had stopped. He assured
him he was O.K. He then repeated stopping and then going
very slowly. He finally made it to the Las Vegas Valley. By
then he was hearing clunking noises. He got to the "Spaghetti
Bowl". Then he heard "kaboom"! His car had started on fire.
Rick stopped and got out. His quick reflexes got his water jug
and fortunately put the fire out. He then had to wait there on
the freeway for the rescuing party ,namely Jason Watkins ,to
get him. The blessings of this episode are Rick is O.k,
He made it to the valley before the fire, and he had a job
before this happened.

This weekend, to say the least, we are looking for a new vehicle.

The Circus!

The Circus was in town! It was amazing! I'm not much

of a Circus person, but wow we were impressed. It was
the Shriner Circus which I think by far is better than
the Barnum and Bailey Circus. We even got to go down
on the floor after the show and see the animals!

Camping!

We went camping two weekends in a row. I don't know
if we are crazy or we love it that much. Maybe a little bit
of both!
Friends Campout

Labor Day Weekend with the Ferrins!
We went camping in Ceadar Breaks. It was gorgeous! The
first night however it rained 2 inches. We had a river running
through the tent. I then questioned "Why do I camp"? Then
the sun came out and we dried our clothes and kids. So the
rest of the time we got to enjoy each other and enjoy nature. What
an adventure!
Below is the camp host's dog who was a frequent visitor
to our camp.

This is Mindy's fish she caught. What a wiggle thing!

First Day of School!

School is in! My girls were excited to go back
to school. I must say I was too! On the first
day we have a tradition where we meet at my
friends house not to far from the school. We
eat donuts, muffins, and juice before we
all walk together and send the kids off.

Summer- let the good times roll

Summer has come and gone. I can't believe it! Good Memories
have been made. So I thought it might be time to update my blog.
I know it has been forever or so it seems since I've written.
This summer has been eventful for us. My mom ended up
being very sick. We had to help take care of her. We also
hosted Rick's brother, Ryan, three or four times a week since
February so he could stay and work in Vegas until he went
to school in Utah in the fall. Jenna even gave up her room to
accommodate him. Ryan's wife and daughter were two hours
away so he would go home to them on the weekends. We sure
enjoyed having him stay! Good luck Ryan! Rick currently
is on the hunt for a new job. So if there is a need for a
Structural Engineer anywhere let us know. In the mean
time Rick and I have been getting reacquainted with
each other. He is realizing how busy four kids are!
So here is most of what we did this summer.

Memorial Weekend
The weekend I must say was an adventure. We blew a tire
on the way up and ended up getting four brand new ones.
It hailed on us in Emery. I was confused for a little bit what
season we were in. We did have a great time. My kids love
Emery rain or shine!

Daddy Daughter for Activity Days!
Yee Haw!

Dog Bite
This is Kate trying to get her bandages off and saying Ow!
She got bit by my mom's dog. We had to take her to the
emergency. She got stitches. Brittany also got bit the
the next day. Then my mom got bit a week later. The dog
needless to say is no longer with us.

Family Camp
I think the pictures speak for themselves! We really
had a great time! My Dad's family always goes camping
in July for a whole week. Rick came up at the end of the week
and took our two oldest to Lagoon. My brother got free
tickets and took his two oldest kids too. They had so much fun!
Sorry no pictures of Lagoon because they didn't take the camera!

Fourth of July
We spent it in Alamo Nevada. It is a very small town near
where my sister-in-law lives. We had a great time. We
even swam in some natural spring water with the frogs!
My nature loving kids loved it! Thanks Ryan and Amber
for a good time!

Broderick Family Reunion

We sure laughed a great deal. Grandpa Broderick made
sure the kids were having fun. He converted the car port
into a little sleeping area. He even had a hammock in there.
He also made a sled and gave the kids rides through the
cornfield. His double seater bike was also a big hit. Another
highlight was our visit to the dairy farm. They even had
reindeer. I know that sounds weird, but true. Grandma sure
fed us some good food! I say let's do it again!

St. Patrick's Day!

I know this is a couple of days late, but
I had to post this for grandma. Here
are the kiddos in all their green.

We celebrated our festive day in the morning by
eating Lucky Charms(which we don't get very
often so it was a treat). We also had green milk.
Yum!

Basketball!

Jenna had a great time playing basketball for the first time.
I was a little nervous to have her play because of the stories
I've heard. She had an excellent coach( which I think makes
a difference). Her teammates were very good sports. We
had a lot of fun watching her games.

Here is part of Jenna's cheering section!

Back in the Saddle Again!

I finally updated my blog! I had so much to
post but I'm finally caught up! We ended
up getting a new computer and I love it!
Check out some of my older posts. I
couldn't publish all that I had to catch up
on on one page.

Valentines Day!

I wanted to share one of my favorite

Scriptures for Valentines Day!
It reads:
"Love never gives up, never
loses faith, is always hopeful, and
endures through every circumstance."
--1cor 13:7
I love that scripture because no
matter what we go through the one
thing that always edures is our love
for each other.
My family this year tried to show more
love by giving each other notes and
little surprises. We made pockets to hang
on our bedroom doors. We then put these
notes and surprises in them for one week
before valentines. It really helped us show
our love for each other more. I think we will
do it every year!

Our Newest addition!

She is cute, cuddly, and hairy. Our family
adopted a fur ball. It is a guinea pig!
Her name is Brownie and the kids adore her.
