The Clayson Family Camp!

My great gramdma started camping for a week with friends when her kids were little. The family has been camping ever since. We go camping up Santaquin Canyon at a place called Tinny Flats for a week. When I was 3 years old part of the canyon caught on fire while we were camping. We all had to evacuate. We then left for about 13 years after that and had to camp somewhere else. We then were able to go back to the original spot. Camping back in my great grandmas day and now is quite different. They started out camping without any structures. They slept on the ground. Then they moved to a tent without floors! Can you imagine! Now we have nice tents and trailers. Not to mention flushing toliets up in the mountains. I must say the flushing toliets is something I'm grateful for! My great grandma went faithfully ever year camping until she was 91 years old. She passed away at the age of 93. Her legacy still continues.

I'm so glad we were able to go this year. I previously have missed the last 2 years. We sure had a great time. I did miss Rick. He had to work which I am really grateful that he has a job. I am hoping he can come next year!

There is a motto up at camp it goes,
"If you ain't dirty, You ain't camping!"

We sang everynight all the songs we could think
of around the campfire! I really enjoyed it

Kate really enjoyed her cousins walker. She
went everywhere in it.

Alina and Cache came up for a day.

Jeremy giving love to his newphew!
This was taken at the begginning of
the week.Toward the end of the week
Jeremy's car radiator had blown up
and his whole familyhad gotten the flu.
What an adventure!

We had a river right next to our campground. The
kids were down there all the time. The water was
really cold, but when it's in the name of fun who cares!

Some cousins hanging out. One of our favorite
past times up there next to playing cards of course.

There was so much for the kids to do up there.
We did crafts, Bingo, Hikes, treasure hunting,
nature lessons, a parade, pinata. Mindy begged
the last day to stay one more day. I'm so glad
they had a great time.

Kate says "Look mom I didn't eat any dirt
I have my binky in."

One of the highlights for the kids is the tire
swing my uncle Joesph puts up.

Every year we have a talent show.
Some of the talents were magic, a singing
dog, hula hooping, and skits. My Uncle
Joesph was the M.C.

Mindy showing her stuff. My aunt
was so impressedwith her she wants
her to come perform for her six graders.
Mindy will also be performing at
our stakes Pioneer Day Celebration.
Watch for her there!

Jenna and her cousin Ashley doing their routine.
