Life Happens!
Rick got a contracted government job in California for a year.
Yeah! The only draw back is we are apart during the week.
He then joins us,his family, on the weekends. We really try
to enjoy every minute together!
My good friend always tells me Life is about the stories
you can tell. So I have a story that we will be telling for a
long time. So it began with Rick leaving California to come home
to his waiting family. He was traveling along and the gage
to tell you if your car is overheating went up. He had to
pull over. He waited for it to cool down. Then went on his
merry way. He then had to stop again. He called me to tell
me the situation. By then a cop had stopped. He assured
him he was O.K. He then repeated stopping and then going
very slowly. He finally made it to the Las Vegas Valley. By
then he was hearing clunking noises. He got to the "Spaghetti
Bowl". Then he heard "kaboom"! His car had started on fire.
Rick stopped and got out. His quick reflexes got his water jug
and fortunately put the fire out. He then had to wait there on
the freeway for the rescuing party ,namely Jason Watkins ,to
get him. The blessings of this episode are Rick is O.k,
He made it to the valley before the fire, and he had a job
before this happened.
This weekend, to say the least, we are looking for a new vehicle.

This is what you get when you mix boredom
Camping!
We went camping two weekends in a row. I don't know
if we are crazy or we love it that much. Maybe a little bit
of both!

First Day of School!
School is in! My girls were excited to go back
to school. I must say I was too! On the first
day we have a tradition where we meet at my
friends house not to far from the school. We
eat donuts, muffins, and juice before we
all walk together and send the kids off.

Summer- let the good times roll
Summer has come and gone. I can't believe it! Good Memories
have been made. So I thought it might be time to update my blog.
I know it has been forever or so it seems since I've written.
This summer has been eventful for us. My mom ended up
being very sick. We had to help take care of her. We also
hosted Rick's brother, Ryan, three or four times a week since
February so he could stay and work in Vegas until he went
to school in Utah in the fall. Jenna even gave up her room to
accommodate him. Ryan's wife and daughter were two hours
away so he would go home to them on the weekends. We sure
enjoyed having him stay! Good luck Ryan! Rick currently
is on the hunt for a new job. So if there is a need for a
Structural Engineer anywhere let us know. In the mean
time Rick and I have been getting reacquainted with
each other. He is realizing how busy four kids are!
So here is most of what we did this summer.
Memorial Weekend
The weekend I must say was an adventure. We blew a tire
on the way up and ended up getting four brand new ones.
It hailed on us in Emery. I was confused for a little bit what
season we were in. We did have a great time. My kids love
Emery rain or shine!

Dog Bite
This is Kate trying to get her bandages off and saying Ow!
She got bit by my mom's dog. We had to take her to the
emergency. She got stitches. Brittany also got bit the
the next day. Then my mom got bit a week later. The dog
needless to say is no longer with us.
Family Camp
I think the pictures speak for themselves! We really
had a great time! My Dad's family always goes camping
in July for a whole week. Rick came up at the end of the week
and took our two oldest to Lagoon. My brother got free
tickets and took his two oldest kids too. They had so much fun!
Sorry no pictures of Lagoon because they didn't take the camera!
Fourth of July
We spent it in Alamo Nevada. It is a very small town near
where my sister-in-law lives. We had a great time. We
even swam in some natural spring water with the frogs!
My nature loving kids loved it! Thanks Ryan and Amber
for a good time!
