Last Day of School!

We are officially out of school! Yea! It really is only for two
weeks then they will start a new grade. Jenna will be in
3rd grade and Mindy in 2nd grade. We had to celebrate!
We got together with friends to do that!

What Joy there is in the life of a 3 year old!

Jenna and Aliza wanted their barbies to go
swimming and of course they had to be modest.
So they got some socks for their swimming suits and
hair things to hold the socks!

This is Mindy's good friend from school Bradan
Braithwaite.

I can't believe I'm posting this picture! Really the focus
is the babies anyway not the moms. All of these babies
were born in the same year! Aren't they cute?

Cloud Watching!

Do you remember watching clouds when you were a kid?
The clouds would become dragons, houses, grapes, whatever
your imagination came up with. On Saturday we had a picnic
in the park and then layed down and watched clouds.
We had a great time!

We thought this one was an airplane. Can you see it?

Tell us what you think this is.

How my Summer Days Go By!

Do We have a Poet in the Family?

Jenna did a Poetry Reading in her 2nd grade class. All of her class did a great job! Here are a few of Jenna's poems.

Coconut Tree

Coconut Tree
Coconut Tree
Make some Coconuts for you and me.
Coconut Tree
Coconut Tree
the coconuts will grow
you will see.
Coconut Tree
Coconut Tree
make some coconuts for you and me.
The flowers look beautiful on you!
You are my favorite coconut tree!

Great Paka

Oh I miss you great paka
the day you died.
Oh please come back!
Oh please come back!
We sang songs,
read books,
and laughed.
I miss you!

Pioneer Days!

We had a great time this year at our Stake's Pioneer Day's celebration. It was overcast which helped beat the heat. On friday we ate dinner, learned how to make butter, tasted all different kinds of homemade bread, and waited for a homemade donut. Yum! We also saw Kim and Dan. Kim is Rick's Sister JoAnn's best friend. On Saturday we played games, got wet, ate good food, listened to the loudest fireworks ever! Mindy also performed her hula hoop routine. She did a great job!

The Clayson Family Camp!

My great gramdma started camping for a week with friends when her kids were little. The family has been camping ever since. We go camping up Santaquin Canyon at a place called Tinny Flats for a week. When I was 3 years old part of the canyon caught on fire while we were camping. We all had to evacuate. We then left for about 13 years after that and had to camp somewhere else. We then were able to go back to the original spot. Camping back in my great grandmas day and now is quite different. They started out camping without any structures. They slept on the ground. Then they moved to a tent without floors! Can you imagine! Now we have nice tents and trailers. Not to mention flushing toliets up in the mountains. I must say the flushing toliets is something I'm grateful for! My great grandma went faithfully ever year camping until she was 91 years old. She passed away at the age of 93. Her legacy still continues.

I'm so glad we were able to go this year. I previously have missed the last 2 years. We sure had a great time. I did miss Rick. He had to work which I am really grateful that he has a job. I am hoping he can come next year!

There is a motto up at camp it goes,
"If you ain't dirty, You ain't camping!"

We sang everynight all the songs we could think
of around the campfire! I really enjoyed it

Kate really enjoyed her cousins walker. She
went everywhere in it.

Alina and Cache came up for a day.

Jeremy giving love to his newphew!
This was taken at the begginning of
the week.Toward the end of the week
Jeremy's car radiator had blown up
and his whole familyhad gotten the flu.
What an adventure!

We had a river right next to our campground. The
kids were down there all the time. The water was
really cold, but when it's in the name of fun who cares!

Some cousins hanging out. One of our favorite
past times up there next to playing cards of course.

There was so much for the kids to do up there.
We did crafts, Bingo, Hikes, treasure hunting,
nature lessons, a parade, pinata. Mindy begged
the last day to stay one more day. I'm so glad
they had a great time.

Kate says "Look mom I didn't eat any dirt
I have my binky in."

One of the highlights for the kids is the tire
swing my uncle Joesph puts up.

Every year we have a talent show.
Some of the talents were magic, a singing
dog, hula hooping, and skits. My Uncle
Joesph was the M.C.

Mindy showing her stuff. My aunt
was so impressedwith her she wants
her to come perform for her six graders.
Mindy will also be performing at
our stakes Pioneer Day Celebration.
Watch for her there!

Jenna and her cousin Ashley doing their routine.

4th of July Weekend!

We started our weekend on thursday night! We went to the 2nd annual Patriotic concert put on by our Stake. Our Stake choir and Orchestra performed. It was wonderful! I was brought to tears. I couldn't help but feel gratitude for the nation we live in and for all the men and women who have defended it for our freedom. We then decided to go home and watch the fireworks and pack for our trip. I was amazed how well we could see the fireworks from my bed room window!

On the 4th we went up to Utah. We traveled most of the day. We made a random stop north of Beaver where we found some horses to pet. They came right up to us. The kids thought it was so cool. Jenna especially enjoyed them since she is a horse lover! We then did the sparkler/firework thing up in Salt Lake. I couldn't believe how many illegal fireworks their were. We try to see Rick's brother who has M.S. when we go up. His brother looks great after his weight lose. Rick then flew home on Sunday for free on Jet Blue thanks to my wonderful aunt who works for them. We really appreciated her doing that! I stayed up the rest of the week with the kids for a family reunion.

Grandpa keeping the sparklers going! He
secretly loves to light things with fire.

These are the nice horses that let us pet them!

Rick's brother Noel and Him.

Noels lost 70 pounds! Way to go!
The girls having fun with their cousin Abby!
